We would like to inform you that starting December 30, 2024, Vigiler will gradually implement the so-called “Travel Rule” (EU Regulation 2023/1113).
The Travel Rule aims to enhance transparency in transferring digital assets and support the fight against money laundering.
What does this mean for you?
- For outgoing transactions, you will be required to provide the beneficiary’s name, indicate whether the transaction is directed to a private wallet or a cryptocurrency exchange, and submit any additional information needed.
The beneficiary’s details will be linked to the specified digital wallet address, so you will not need to re-enter this information for future transfers to the same address.
- For incoming transactions, you must provide the sender’s name and specify whether the transaction originates from a private wallet or a cryptocurrency exchange.
Vigiler strives to minimise any disruption to your transactions and will only request this information when it is strictly required by law. For incoming transfers, you will receive an email notification requesting the source address information. For outgoing transfers, after approval, you will receive an email notification if additional details are required. The required information can be submitted through a user-friendly interface in both cases.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: These changes apply only to transactions made after December 30, 2024. No action is required if you do not initiate or receive a transaction.
If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
Thank you for your cooperation!
Best regards,
The Vigiler Team
